I'm anxiously waiting for more infos regardind fighting huge creatures. Last time I heard you can jump onto the dragon Space Trooper style and give him a whack. I wonder if you also can slip under his belly and tickle him so that he starts laughing. Man, I always miss the humor in combat!

I tried the whole "Jump on the dragon's back to attack him" thing once in PnP. The dragon just rolled over and I died.

I'm starting to wonder at the schematics involved here.

Is 'generic fantasy' just the term people use for any setting with elves, dwarves, magic, and a technological base from the dark ages to the renaissance?

That is how I define it.

I define it by how many simarlities a particular setting has to Tolkien/D&D as usually when people whine about 'generic fantasy' they usually mean that.

That said, generic fantasy is NOT a bad thing. In fact, it's a good thing.

LONG LIVE DWARVES 4EVER! :yucky:

DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

That is how I define it.

Hmmm, I can deal with that.

I tend to see a difference between genre fantasy and generic fantasy. The Wheel of Time and the Icewind Dale trilogy are great examples of what I'd characterize as generic fantasy, though the Wheel of Time has no elves or dwarves.

The Tough Guide to Fantasyland would be the bible of generic fantasy.

I8 would love it if that was in game footage; but it likely isn't. R00fles!

Not bad, just tiresome.

If it's so tiresome, stop buying and playing generic fantasy games. But, oh right, I'll be watching you play and buy NWN2 expansion. And, enjoying it. *shrug* Apparantly, it's not as tiresome as you claim.

Actions speak louder than words on a screen.

Its DnD and I already bought the main game so I might as well get the expansion. I expect more out of Bioware because they aren't tied to anybody elses' IP.
