tarna Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 My little $300 machine is now worth well over $1000 in parts and accessories. :D Isn't that always the case when inproving an older system!? I just wish I had just one more PCI slot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What are you looking to add and what is taking up your existing PCI slots? Maybe something can be moved or consolidated. Ruminations... Sand Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) I want to add in a dedicated HDTV tuner/receiver. I only have two PCI slots. One is my Soundblaster Xi-Fi and the other is a very nice wireless LAN reciever for my Internet. Sand Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I considered that but in my experience the USB types have a lower signal threshold. I like being at full bars. metadigital Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Well, then, you should buy a new motherboard. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Sand Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Yep. New motherboard, CPU, and case are next on the agenda.
