My little $300 machine is now worth well over $1000 in parts and accessories.

:D Isn't that always the case when inproving an older system!?

I just wish I had just one more PCI slot.

What are you looking to add and what is taking up your existing PCI slots? Maybe something can be moved or consolidated.

I want to add in a dedicated HDTV tuner/receiver. I only have two PCI slots. One is my Soundblaster Xi-Fi and the other is a very nice wireless LAN reciever for my Internet.

Does a HDTV card need a PCI-e slot?

This can be changed to a USB style unit and it will free up your PCI slot.

I considered that but in my experience the USB types have a lower signal threshold. I like being at full bars.

Well, then, you should buy a new motherboard.

Yep. New motherboard, CPU, and case are next on the agenda.
