Tweaked Firefox Lets You Surf Internet Anonymously

Featured Replies

A tweaked version of Firefox that makes Web browsing anonymous has been released by a group of privacy-minded coders.

Every few minutes, the Torpark browser causes a computer's IP address to appear to change. IP addresses are numeric identifier given to computers on the Internet. The number can be used along with other data to potentially track down a user, as many Web sites keep track of IP addresses.

Tried it, easy to use, but a tad slow. Wondering how it works for others

I've used IP masks before. There are sites that you can go to that launch a "mini-browser" that have a proxy IP. They're useful for getting past being banned on a forum.

Not that I've ever used it for such nefarious purposes.

Right, but free proxies are annoying, but there are ones that a faster than this. I wanted to see if it's just me.

This browser uses onion routing, which is not exactly the same as using proxies.
