July 27, 200520 yr I do like it so far, but I really hope the game expands a lot on the multiple characters.
July 27, 200520 yr We know. We've been enthusing about it all day. (Still don't like the left/right clicking thing. What's with that?) "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
July 27, 200520 yr You'll get used to it! I already have. If not though, you can set it up for a dual-analog controller. For some stupid reason, I've played the demo more than a few times already :D The multiple character thing is neat, as you can directly see what consequences your actions as Lucas do when you investigate as Clara.
July 27, 200520 yr You'll get used to it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Probably. For some stupid reason, I've played the demo more than a few times already :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you found a way to skip through the very long introduction? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
July 29, 200520 yr David Cage answers some questions here. It's also being revealed that the US-Version won't have Sex scenes included... Not my problem. Now after playing the demo (albeit a little short), I'm 99,9999% certain that I'm getting the full version.... the Euro version (with Sex scenes), that is. " :"> Rain makes everything better.
July 29, 200520 yr I wonder if Hot Coffee influenced said decision. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I think it's just the general censorship... it's not the first time after all that something like that happens. Rain makes everything better.
July 29, 200520 yr I think it's funny that games like Leisure Suit Larry and Singles are fine, but all of a sudden there can't be sex in games.
July 29, 200520 yr The difference probably is that in Leisure Suit Larry the delicate female parts were always well-behaved hidden. Fahrenheit, on the the other hand, isn't supposed to hide God's gift natural beauty....it's a French game, after all. But yes, I guess Atari fears to be sued by some jerks due to possible "naughty Exposures". And the "Hot Coffee" Mod doesn't seem to make the matter easier. But I'm not a specialist in US-Censorship, there could be plenty of other reasons too. Rain makes everything better.
July 29, 200520 yr One of the bizarro traits of North American society. I wonder if I should import the UK version.....although I'm not worried about seeing some boobies. Is that all that's missing, or is the sex scene(s) removed entirely?
July 29, 200520 yr According to what Dave said, the scenes are removed entirely... And I guess by removed I really mean "removed" (animations, art, sound etc.), otherwise some modder could initiate another "Hot Coffee" like disaster again, which is certainly not in Atari's best interest. Rain makes everything better.
July 29, 200520 yr Hmmmm.. Not one to miss out on the story however..... :| If I'm feeling motivated I may import it, but I'll probably just get the local copy. But Farenheit is a better name that Indigo Prophecy IMO Decisions decisions....
July 29, 200520 yr But Farenheit is a better name that Indigo Prophecy IMO <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Again, I agree with you. You're probably another one of my secret accounts.
July 29, 200520 yr I wonder if I should import the UK version..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes! Support our (flagging) economy! Maybe Indigo Prophecy works better in French or German? Or perhaps Fahrenheit doesn't work in Europe - I don't know how much the temperature measure is used outside North America. Edit: I'm wrong. Indigo Prophecy is the North American title. I wonder why I assumed it was the other way around? Why shouldn't Canada get the European version? Or do Canadians have the same attitude to sex ( ) as people in the US? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
July 29, 200520 yr I think we're a little less conservative than the US personally. We're like half European Half North American :D
August 4, 200520 yr There's an interesting article about Fahrenheit at Adventure Gamers: Link I'm interested in the concept of 'bending stories' - I wonder to what extent there will be a single 'main' path, and how you will be able to deviate from that. The rubber-band analogy could suggests flexibility or that the game will keep pulling you back onto a single path. I'm glad they feel they've had enough time to polish the game before release. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
August 4, 200520 yr Yeah, looking forward to it. I'd imagine there can only be so much deviation, because he does want to have a strong story. But the elements and perhaps some of the conclusions and decisions that are made along the way are more malleable.
