Illunder
I have just received this morning in the post, two letters from the same company claiming that I owe Hfc Bank over a grand. It doesn't say what I'm supposed to have bought or borrowed and also claims that if I don't pay within seven days "a County Court Claim may be issued against you". I'm going to see the bank in question today anyway (they have a branch where I live) but to be totally honest I don't know what the hell their on about. the only thing I have ever bought in my life worth over a grand is my PC which I bought from Dell and am still quite happily paying the monthly payments. It can't be my credit card as thats with my bank (HSBC) and my balance (according to my last statement is well under
SteveThaiBinh
HFC has a bit of a reputation for screwing up. There was a scandal recently when they accidently revealed lots of customers' private information, I think. It's most likely a mistake rather than a scam, but be careful when you meet them and don't sign anything. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." Illunder
Hopefully. I knew it wasn't good news when I saw the red paper peeking through the clear bit on the envelope. Why couldn't it have been a late valentine's? Why God? :D
Kaftan Barlast
You could file a rapport with the police against them for false billing? Darth Flatus
If you haven't done so already get in touch with the debt collectors and HFC and ask them specifically wtf they want. It could just be a case of mistaken address/identity. Check your credit record with Equifax and/or Experian they are the two main organisations everyone refers to when they want someone's credit rating.
