During in game videos my hard drive access light comes on and the video slows down and skips. Happens every time a video plays. Starts off fine then after a while it will skip and then be fine again.

My PC Setup is:

MSI 865PE Neo2 Motherboard

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz

1Gb P3200 OCZ Ram

Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256Mb

Maxtor 250Gb SATA Hard drive

Maxtor 200Gb SATA Hard drive

Pioneer DVD Drive

LG DVD Writter

Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU

Creatve Labs SB Live 5.1

Anybody got any ideas. Thanks

Have you defragmented your hard drive lately? If you haven't, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter. Use that program to fix up your hard drives. That should at least help you.

Yeah I've done a defrag and a virus scan all the usual things but it makes no difference

Might want to disable anti aliasing/anisotropic filtering, they tend to cause problems with ingame videos for ATI cards.

Tryed it but no luck I'm afraid

Are there any other programs running in the background? You could try to quit your virus scanner while playing.

Only other thing running is the GUI for my mouse. Tryed without both the Firewall and AV which ALMOST solves the problem. Playing without the AV is fine but I'm not going to leave my Firewall off.
