it didnt go past the first screen

If the game appears to lock up with a partial loading bar immediately after the Character Creation screen, you may have a file that is related to CD-ROM and DVD-ROM playback on your system that is causing a conflict. not the 1 3rd loading screen error, it would get an error and close right after the 1st movie.
