Just started playing - chemicals disappear

I opened up a box with chemicals in the Peragus medical center but after I pick them up I don't see them in my inventory. Is this a known bug or am I missing something?

They don't appear in inventory (same with components).

You can only see the amount when using workbench (components) or medlab (chemicals)

 

Don't ask me why, as I hoped for a number in the equipment screen too.

Maybe something for a content patch.
