I think the most interesting question is "why?". Dear developers, we have yet to be given a reason for this "disaster".

 

Haven't the devs always lured us with statements like "Bad things will happen to good people"?

 

I suppose that a "complete" version of KotOR2 indeed existed and was tested:

"emotional wrecks"? Is this the reason why they left the scenes out in the final version?

 

And if you read what some reviewers have written about the influence system of the game ("influence with a character will especially be important at the end of the game, you will see", e.g.), you could come to the conclusion that this stuff has been in some early press releases.
