Is it me, or does David Duchovny play pretty much the same part in everything he does? I watched Playing God last night (for Angelina, not him) and as soon as it started I thought "here we go, typical Duchovny" - same narration style as in Kalifornia....same attitude in the character....bleh.

 

Regarding the film - it wasn't too great, entertained me though - mostly due to Angelina and the fact that most of the characters had really dodgy accents. Duchovny is really unconvincing as a doctor.

 

One of the lesser characters made for some "laugh out loud" moments - the crazy surfer criminal guy. Most amusing.

 

It helped me go to sleep anyway :D

Yes, he really can't act and doesn't have much of a range. The X-Files and maybe X-Files movies are the only thing he will most likely be known for and successful in.

I saw it long ago and I don't remember a great deal about it other than it entertained me. I never really bought Duchovny as a doctor, but he did a decnt enough job.

I didn't think much of Evolution. It was alright, but entirely forgettable. I've only played the part of XIII when I rented it out. I think he has a good voice, but he didn't seem to put any effort into it, like he was just reading his lines (like Viggo Mortensen in The Two Towers game).

I haven''t played XIII although i did see it being played in HMV the other day - looked kind of cool.

 

I have however played the Two Towers game, and the voice acting in that did leave something to be desired, I agree.

To be honest, I haven't seen it all. I watched for 30 minutes maybe, fell asleep and then woke up just before the end to listen to my boyfriend's mutterings about how bad it was

David Duchovany is only good in movies whee aliens are planning to invade the earth and the US Government is trying to keep it secret.

He was good when he was on that episode of Saturday Night Live, thought it was kinda funny to see someone sleepy-like doing all this goofy stuff.

I love Evolution because of Orlando Jones. I loved his stuff on Mad TV, and his stint as "The 7-Up Guy" was great, too.

Duchovny was hilarious on the Larry Sanders show.
