Skritch boss fight feedback

Featured Replies

ROT AND RUIN SPOLIERS WARNING - I have completed the Skritch boss fight enough times to unlock all the centipede armour, wall mount and stuffed variations and in my opinion upon completing the boss fight the drops could use a slight increase in quantity, additionally understandably the early access was buggy and from a game developer standpoint that seems very unfair to complain about, however Skritch's movement especially with the legs causing damage to the player need to be altered. The amount of times during the boss fight I would lose all my health from Skritch running past me, only to then be 1 shot by his bite, or by termite workers / soldiers. The boss fight is very hard especially after giving the termite queen the 'bad option' yet I think a change to the way Skritch's legs interact with the player, or at least some indication like for example his antennas could indicate which way he will run so you can dodge his stampede. If any Grounded 2 developers somehow stumble upon this feedback id like to say I love what you're doing with the park and keep up the amazing work.

Skirch's legs keep trapping me against a wall and I die before I can heal.

First of all, I want to say that I really enjoy the Rot and Ruin update. The new area, creatures, exploration and content are fantastic, and I appreciate the work the developers have put into it.

However, I believe the Centipede boss needs a balance adjustment.

My main issue is that the fight feels almost impossible unless you use a very specific build. Instead of encouraging players to experiment with different equipment, mutations and playstyles, the encounter seems to force you into a narrow set of options.

One of the best things about Grounded is the freedom to create your own builds and approach challenges in different ways. When a boss makes most of those options feel unviable, that freedom disappears, and the fight becomes frustrating rather than rewarding.

I'm not asking for the boss to be easy. I want it to remain challenging, but the difficulty should come from learning its attacks, timing your defenses and improving your strategy, rather than feeling forced to use a particular build.

My suggestions:

- Rebalance its damage, attack windows or other mechanics where necessary.

- Make a wider variety of builds and playstyles viable.

- Preserve the challenge while rewarding skill, preparation and experimentation.

This is genuinely my only major complaint about the update. I love the rest of the new content, and I would hate for an otherwise fantastic update to be overshadowed by a boss that feels excessively restrictive.

I hope the developers will consider community feedback and review the Centipede's balance. Thank you for your continued work on Grounded 2!
