The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Upgrade FAQ

Q: When will The Outer Worlds be delisted?

A: The Outer Worlds base game along with its DLCs will be removed from the following storefronts for purchase on May 27th, 2026: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC App, Windows Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. PlayStation 5 will be delisted on May 28th, 2026 due to a platform restriction.

The only platforms not affected by this are Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. However, both the Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos DLCs will be combined into a single expansion pass at a new lower price going forward.

Q: If I own The Outer Worlds am I eligible to receive the upgrade to the Spacer’s Choice Edition of the game?

A: This will rely on the platform that you own the game on and dependent on how the platform issues licenses.

Xbox App, Windows Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG If the base game for The Outer Worlds is in your digital library, you are eligible to receive the upgrade at no additional cost.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Digital Owners Due to platform limitations with entitlements, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players that own the game digitally will need to own the base game along with both DLCs (Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos) to be eligible for the free* upgrade.

*Please Note: A regional platform restriction requires that German players who qualify for the upgrade will need to pay a small fee of ¢0.01.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Physical Owners We are still investigating the possibility of being able to extend this offer to physical owners of The Outer Worlds on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, however we will not be able to do so by the date it will happen for digital owners on May 27th, 2026. We will update if we’re able to make this work in the future.

Q: Will Game Pass players have access to The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition if the original is being delisted?

A: The Game Pass version on Xbox Series X|S will be updated to the Spacer’s Choice Edition of the game.

Q: Will I have access to the original version of the game if I already own the Spacer’s Choice Edition?

A: Yes, if the Spacer’s Choice Edition of the game is in your digital library you will have access to be able to download the base edition. On consoles it will not show up automatically in your library if you previously didn’t have it. You will need to search for it through the store first and then you will be able to download it from there.

Q: Will my saves from the original version of The Outer Worlds work on the Spacer’s Choice Edition?

A: Yes they will. We have done the work to ensure that all saves from the base edition will be able to move forward to the Spacer’s Choice Edition. Though do note that due to new features like grenades, going back to the base edition from the Spacer’s Choice Edition will not work.

Q: Will the upgrade automatically install if I’m eligible?

A: No. You will have to find the upgrade in your digital library and install it from there.
