Major FPS drops after playing for some time until reloading

Featured Replies

Is anyone experiencing major FPS drops after playing for a little while (Maybe 10 minutes, sometimes quicker or longer). I noticed it also occurs quickly when going in to the first research center after the tutorial lab.

The game normally runs at 100+ fps, but once this starts happening the fps drops in to the 20's and is stuttering. If I save and reload the game that usually makes it okay for a bit. I have tried lower settings once it starts lagging, lower render distance, vsync on my nvidia control panel. Nothing changes it once it starts, so it does not seem tied to the graphics settings. I have a pretty decent computer and like stated, the game runs super smooth until the lag starts.

My Specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5ghz

32 GB DDR5 Ram

NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4070 12gb ddr6x

SSD

I play through the XBOX PC app

"Hi, I’m having the exact same issue...

Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7700

  • RAM: 32GB DDR5

  • GPU: RTX 5070

  • Storage: SSD

My FPS drops drastically after a few minutes of gameplay (from 100 down to 15-20 FPS). I haven't had any issues before, and this is exclusive to Grounded; I don't have this problem with any other games. I have to reload the game, but within 5 to 15 minutes, it’s back to being unplayable."

Generally my PC is slow and I am kinda expecting it, but noticed that the game flows good for a couple of hours, and then it starts to fps drop periodically and after a couple of minutes - crash.
I will post a report next time. Normally i just click "dont send" and restart the game. Since it autosaves pretty often, and by now I can tell when it is about to crash I dont notice it that much. Since it happens only after multiple hours of leaving the game on. (it tells me its about time to leave the PC alone).

RAM: 16GB
GPU: RX 570 8gb
Storage: SSD
I dont remember my processor. Posting from work. :/

Adding a note here.

I have moved my base by the black ant hill, far from the starting zone. I have not experienced any lag, but I do if I go back around the snackbar and starter area. It seems like something around there is causing it. I looked through the anthill thinking maybe it was a bunch of ants dropping items but I didnt see a spot they are doing that like grounded 1
