December 18, 2025Dec 18 My player character is a Cipher and I've generally been initiating combat (as in before turn-based mode begins) with an attack from stealth by her with Lead Spitter for the focus gain. However, I've noticed this opening shot consistently deals substantially less damage (even with Apprentice's Sneak Attack!) than subsequent attacks made with Lead Spitter on the same enemies. After reviewing the combat log, I saw that the damage calculation was not showing any DR subtracted from Lead Spitter's DR bypass on this initial attack (see image). I also tested turning Turn-Based Mode off in the current beta patch, and this caused DR bypass to be correctly applied on this opening attack again, so this is specifically a TBM issue.
April 12Apr 12 Author Bumping this, as I have tested and confirmed that it has not been fixed as of the public launch of Turn-Based Mode.If it were behaving as expected, the screenshot in the above post would show "(DR: 6.0 - 7.0)" in the combat log calculation. Instead it shows the enemy still is applying its full DR of 6.0. This is not just a logging error, the actual damage done is accurate to the calculation in the log. Subsequent attacks once TBM combat has actually begun behave as expected and show the correct calculation in the combat log.Reproduction step-by-step, for utmost clarity: Have TBM enabled in settings, but be outside of combat.Have a character equipped with a ranged weapon that possesses DR bypass (e.g. Lead Spitter or any firearm). Put the character into scouting mode (stealth). While still outside of combat, have the scouting character perform a ranged attack on an enemy, such that the attack completes before the character is detected by the enemy and TBM combat begins.
