According to what I've read online, not having Inez might be game-breaking later on, so I would avoid the route of continuing without her.
Kyana Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 Unfortunately the patch today did NOT fix the problem. Inez and Milverstreet still just stand there, and I can't get anything to progress. Loading an earlier save before I cleared the drones, Inez still isn't in the room. Clear the drones and she immediately shows up, but the exact same problem, she says her piece about him fixing her arm, then there's no way to progress by talking to either NPC. On the bright side after doing that my game no longer crashes when leaving the Incognito, so that's a plus, but I still cannot play until this is fixed. I assume because I completed Milverstreet's quest before Inez was in the room, and she was supposed to be there for that conversation.

Loneagle13 Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I can also confirm this is happening on XBox Series X, although I had done the drones quest by accident when exploring the island before even visiting Milverstreet the first time. Inez disappeared after the first meeting, Milverstreet said "ignore her" on the quest turn-in even though she wasn't in the room, and I thought it was just a instance of "you'll meet her again later". Now I've done almost the whole island and Milverstreet wouldn't even give me the quest to win Westport, which is where I got looped into this bug. So it doesn't just break Inez... It has broken a whole series of quests.
wolfing Posted October 29 Posted October 29 1.0.4 still didn't fix Inez not showing in the room. Milverstreet is turned as if speaking with someone but no Inez. If I complete his quest, he says "Thanks! Pity you didn't meet my operative" or something.
Kyana Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 Oh wow, does he? Maybe I missed that when I completed the quest. It actually shouldn't be possible to complete it without meeting Inez, she's standing right there. I guess maybe you could choose not to talk to the lady who's been shooting rapitodons standing there lookin' at you and just open the door and finish the quest, but that would be a bit of a stretch.
Thomas Speaker Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Inez told me to gotp hell then acted like nothing happened. I took her back and she disappeared right after I got her all setup. She gone
Kyana Posted Thursday at 09:01 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:01 PM (edited) The game is released now, and I still can't play after paying an extra $30 for early access. Sure hope Obsidian patches this. Edited Thursday at 09:03 PM by Kyana
Dustin1280 Posted Thursday at 09:08 PM Posted Thursday at 09:08 PM This is a big deal, because it presents a game breaking glitch towards endgame. During that portion the game wants you to chat with Inez, but if you failed to recruit (or kill her) here, then you are unable to find her and cannot proceed... I have fully completed the first planet and I managed to get her to appear, but she is stuck with generic dialogue at this time and I cannot recruit her or continue the minister's quest. I basically can't proceed in the game till this is fixed

I doubt Inez is necessary, because you can easily miss this character entirely or kill her by accident mistaken for an enemy. I left her on the first planet in that mute dialogue with Milverstreet. Grown tired of waiting for a fix.
shirokuma Posted Friday at 09:11 PM Posted Friday at 09:11 PM Hotfix 1.0.4.1 fixed the problem! Finally I was beginning to think it would take quite more time.
Kyana Posted Friday at 09:43 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:43 PM The patch today fixed this bug. Better late than never!
Crimson1308 Posted Saturday at 12:45 AM Posted Saturday at 12:45 AM I’m still stuck with this bug, cannot get Inez to move past being stuck in the room with Milverstreet! I went back to the drone area, disabled the drones just in case… went to speak to Ethel, and Inez appeared in front of me. Followed her back to the town hall, and still nothing. Just the same line of dialogue about Milverstreet being an imbecile! Someone please help!
Jackalgirl Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM For anyone having issues with this, it's being tracked in AR-126155: https://outerworlds2.obsidian.net/issue-tracker#VafUeB7L-players-unable-to-recruit-inez-ar-126155
Thomas Fail Posted yesterday at 10:37 AM Posted yesterday at 10:37 AM Xbox series X. Still bugged for me. I met Inez, came back to milverstreet and handed in the quest. Didn't realise that Inez was supposed to be there at that point. Went of to do other things thinking it's a maybe I need to return later sort of thing. She isn't there and I can't talk to milverstreet. I've already killed all the drones, talked to people in town as recommended and went to and from the ship. This needs a fix asap as it is literally game breaking.
Hobie K Puzak Posted yesterday at 04:34 PM Posted yesterday at 04:34 PM im on PC and no Inez anywhere even after the patches, done with vox and shes nowhere to be found
Meraghia Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Same for me. I'm on Steam and the bug's still there. Inez doesn't show up even after the patch and after I cleaned up the area of drones. I have the quest in the diary, but I only see this and can't even pin it. I really don't want to reload an old save, as I really progressed into the planet because I didn't know of the bug before.

In my playthrough, after meeting with Inez and finishing the quest for Milverstreet, when i come back to town Milverstreet is alone... I have tried some of the proposed solutions here but none of them changed anything. This is very annoying as i don't know if i should continue (i did a bit but then i stopped) or wait for a patch.

Just to run through the things other folks have mentioned (to make sure you did all these): o Talked to the southern Fairfield gate guards so as to trigger the Drone quest o Killed all of the drones on the west side of the southern half of the island, not just in the Drone facility but in the hills to the northwest of Fairfield, and also possibly down towards the coastal path that leads to the Crabble Tower o If you're able (have the required skills/perks), disabled the drones (even if they're all destroyed) via the shut-down panel just inside (to the left) of the entrance of the Drone facility If you've done all these things and you can't find Inez, try talking to Ethel Tinsley (in Fairfield). I don't think this will make a difference, but I remember that I did this (assuming that that's where Inez would be). And if you've done that, too, I'm kind of stumped; probably waiting for the patch is a good idea, imo. There are a bunch of other side quests you can do around the island that you might not need Inez for, unless you've done them already. : )
