RomanTorchwick Posted March 5 Posted March 5 There has to be a way right? On One Last Drink I'm asked to go get people to meet up with the captain and then asked to hand them drinks, there has to be a way my character can be suspicious and investigate to make sure no one gets poisoned right? Or to make sure it's the captain drinking the poison? It can't just be locked in stone that my character is so naive they never consider the possibility that the Captain is actually trying to kill his former crew and investigate can it? I mean two out of three of them sure seem concerned about it, there's even a deception line to lie and tell one you checked to make sure there was no poison, so surely there's a way to actually check right? But I haven't found it, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Silvaren Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The most suspicious was the female aumaua former crew member. It's hard to convince her. I don't know the exact prequisition but she was the last one I talked to and I was able to persuade her to go to the reunion (I told her about saving the mines or even about the two thirdborn guardians from the old pargrunan watchtower so she considered me trustworthy). I could tell her about the poison and then I could propose to switch their drinks with the captain and his right hand, so the female aumaua and her friend would be alive. Then I could give poisoned drink to the captain and his protege or double cross her.

Oh hey that's awesome thank you, so I needed to free the mines without sabotaging them for Aedyr to do that, but on another playthrough I can talk to her about it. 17 hours ago, saeran said: You need to find the captain's poison stash and his notes. Silvaren Posted March 9 Posted March 9 It's in the tower in Thirdborn. Not far from the place when you met Temerti and Yatzli there is a ladder. Only way to convince Ruanga is to tell her about the poison and suggest to switch the drinks. Even then she will be convinced by 9 Resolve check or she will trust the envoy only if he saved Fior mes Iverno from Steel Garrote, make peace with the guards on watchtower in Shatter Scarp, saved sulfur mines or any huge decision against Aedyr Empire.

slipstream8 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 This quest is bugged. I'm not sure if it has something to do with when you find the poison as I found it during my first visit to Thirdborn. If you pass the +9 Resolve check with Ruanga later in the quest, she joins the captain. But in my playthrough the only conversation option when I return to The Dead Swordfish and take the drinks from the bartender is "[Deliver drinks to captain.] Here they are." Someone posted a YouTube video showing that the options if you have the poison are supposed to be: 1)+9 Dexterity check option, 2)[Give Kowha and Ruanga poisoned rum], or 3)[Switch cups and give Ngunu and Tauwe poisoned rum.] Also, I had completed all of the other tasks required to convince Ruanga, and she still wouldn't go unless I passed the Resolve check, too.
Silvaren Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I did it two times. Two times I persuaded Ruanga to met the captain. It seems to require that you suggest her that you will switch the drinks. She doesn't trust you, so there you have few options. First time I did pro-Living Lands run so I spared Ygwulf, I saved Fior mes Iverno, I saved the sulfur mines, I spared two guards on watchtower etc. She considered me to be trustworthy and agree to met the captain. I could switch the drinks. Second time I didn't do anything good for local population, I played pro-Aedyr, so she didn't trust me and I had no deeds to convice her that I will switch the drinks, so the only way was to pick resolve check. Both times I could switch the drinks. I think it's crucial to convince her that you came up with the plan to swtich the drinks. If you didn't suggest it maybe it's impossible? I thought that without such plan she never met with the captain.

I'm saying that I suggested "what if we turned the tables", I convinced her to join the gathering, but I was not given the option to switch the drinks. It's a bug.
