February 20, 2025Feb 20 Cant open the chest. Refuses to give me the key saying that i opened the chest already so she has nothing to give me. Which is wrong when you cant even open the chest without a key. Needs fixed asap as its breaking my playthrough. ON xbox series x
February 21, 2025Feb 21 I have also encountered the same bug and have stopped playing for now until its fixed. For context, its the exact same as the image above. I acquired the banners for the "Wardens warding" quest without killing any of the outcasts. When I went to hand it in she said I could open the chest as a reward, but she didn't need to give me the key because I had already opened it. Which is weird because you cant pick the lock it can ONLY be opened with her key and she doesn't give it to you! Please fix!

They are aware of this and working on it, they contacted through email and asked for more details. So if you want you can send them a email and explain as well, but they are working on it as of this 2/21/25 when they contacted me back
February 28, 2025Feb 28 Confirmed - ran into the bug after replaying the quest using multiple dialog options, increasing stats via consumable/respec to use optional conversation lines, no change. Regardless of the path chosen, if you do not commit violence when stealing the banners and return, she will mention that you already have the loot and not give you the key to open the chest. If you go hostile, you can loot her corpse for the key, then open the chest.
March 2, 2025Mar 2 Xbox series. Exact same issue. i can only think that if you looted the chest in the Southern Warden Tower storeroom it bugs the banner quest chest???

March 8, 2025Mar 8 Same issue for me on PC on my xbox account. I had a different mission tracked and ran to the quest marker for this quest on the side and took out everyone that attacked me on the way, not realizing I needed to sneak by them. After talking with Amalia she gave me the line about already opening the chest and didn't give me the key. So I reloaded to an earlier save, before I had attacked any of them, and collected the banners without being seen and she still didn't give me the key. The Steel Resolve quest in Emerald Stair is also bugged for me. I can't enter dialogue with Ranger Casagrada. When I try they just mutter something like any other NPC.

March 10, 2025Mar 10 Same, on XBSX. I think what someone mentioned earlier about looting the chest in the storeroom of the Warden tower bugging it has to be correct. I didn't even attempt to open Amalia's locked chest, and I didn't loot anything in her camp until talking to her... I hope that's not a unique heavy armor in that chest or I'll be extra upset. I've been using the same Steel Garrote Plate and Skald's Brigandine armor for the entire game... sick of sporting the enemies crest on my chest!

I did not open the chest in the south-most outcast camp nor loot anything at all there, and she still claims "I already looted it". I did steal everything in the north-western outcast camp and I cannot test it easily (I can, but just tedious). Edited March 12, 2025Mar 12 by Baraz
March 13, 2025Mar 13 Patch notes today include : "Amalia will now always give you the key to her camp’s chest when speaking with her." EDIT: even better, the game actually just gave me the Outcast Chest Key even though I did that dialog many hours before ... Edited March 13, 2025Mar 13 by Baraz
