Unable to complete this quest.  The ambassador is not in his office for me to talk to him to continue the quest.  I did the portion already to Find the Watcher as well.  It seems like I am hard stuck I have cleared the whole zone and did all other side quests I could find. 

I also can't complete this quest but on the other step where i must speak with apothecary. I've killed Thala before while exploring so it did respawn for me and apothecary dielogue is locked.

Unable to complete this quest. When meeting Marius at the bar for the first time, his interactions with other bar patrons is stuck in an endless loop, preventing the quest from progressing.

Having same issue. Have you found a fix? Sucks because it stopped my whole game progression. Taking a L with buying for early access. 

Same issue. Ambassador is missing for me too. Money well spent on early acccess. 

My dialogue box wont open when i find runyd to interact, she just says bother me no more over and over.  This is the only thing in this quest and it wont interact, she just rambles.  all tasks completed or this. FRUSTRATED

We are having this issue as well. My son can’t recruit Marius (he did a LOT of exploring before doing the main quest), and the day 1 patch did not address this issue.

Exact same thing happened to me.  Did the save/load steps recommended and am still just stuck.  I guess they haven't addressed all the main story bugs in Dawnshore.

I heard from Obsidian technical support last night. They were able to reproduce the bug (with Marius) and are working on a fix for the next patch (as of 9:00pm PST 19 February 25).

I have completed all additional sub quests except the one where I must find the watcher, every time I talk to her she says to trouble her no more.

This ‘Untimely End’ quest is living up to its name, but not in the way I expected – it will never end!

I’ve encountered a bug with the main quest where I’m unable to progress because:

• There’s no directional marker on the map guiding me to the next step.
• Neither the Ambassador nor the Watcher have new dialogue options to advance the quest.

I’ve tried to reload and reinstall the game, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Any temporary fixes or workarounds?

Super bummed about this because I really did not need to pay for an early release and wish I had not at this point. Hope they can fix from an update soon.

I have the same bug, The Ambassador isn't at his workplace.

Hello, I have put over 20 hours into this game and have been a positive supporter until this moment. I still cannot progress my game in An Untimely End due to this game breaking bug. I am absolutely appalled that such a bug exist so early into the game. I have the latest update and it’s still not fixed. How could this happen ? And when do you expect to have this fixed ? 

I can't complete this quest either because when I was talking to the ambassador bandits followed my party members or something force quitting the dialogue and the inquisitor never turned up. Speaking to him again he just repeats the same line over and over again so there's no way to progress in the game. Really hoping this can be patched otherwise I'm giving up on the game as I'd lost close to 6 hours of progress.

An Untimely End - Track Down Your Killer

Stuck on Ygwulf, peaceful solution.

 

Tried several times - he hands over items then attacks once exiting the dialogue.  Companions can deal damage (but not enough to kill him) but cannot perform special actions.  I can deal zero damage to anyone in room.  Tried rushing the door to exit, but no option to use key (which I did receive).

 

Tried taking the path to kill him and quest appeared to proceed normally.  I talked to the ambassador but didn't attempt to go further.  Would prefer to take the other path so went back to the save that's right before opening the door to confront Ygwulf.

 

Will be following for updates (hopefully a timely patch or I'll have moved onto other things by then).

 

 

Update:

I found a workaround.  Go ahead and try it - it may help you too.  Just, maybe create a new save file in case it doesn't.

 

I wandered and found a few more chests and finished up the couple of open sidequests I had.  Thought, well, maybe going back will have changed things.

It didn't.

I went ahead and initiated the peaceful solution dialogue again and ran back through the door I came in.  Run back a bit and they lose interest in you.  My companions did their dialogue comments and we left the way we came in.  I moved forward in the quest, talked to the ambassador, talked to the Mermaid's Den girl, then went back Ygwulf's room.

It was now empty, I could loot all the chests and things, and could exit through the correct door using the key.

 

Hopefully this doesn't come back and bite me later when they patch it.

You have to go and speak with “Edda” the gate keeper at Southern Embrace first, she will not let you out without the ambassador’s permission, after that fast travel back to Aedryan Embassy and you can Finnnaally speak with ambassador, the quest will be finally completed
