Mr.Nubbs Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Hello, I'm new here, I've been wandering how do I get into an entry level position as an environmental 3D artist (For assets mostly) I have a resume and a portfolio but I'm always getting the standard no-reply rejection emails days later, if at all. I have a ton of experience but none of it professional, which is what i know companies look for, but I find myself in a feedback loop where I can't get a job because I have no experience and I have no experience because I can't get a job. I was wondering if anybody with experience has any advice for someone in my situation.
Maximilian Sigua Posted Thursday at 05:58 PM Posted Thursday at 05:58 PM Hello Mr.Nubbs! I have found one way to get some experience is to work on some fan projects, game jams, or mod projects. I have worked on some and talked to a lot of people who are working on fan projects (who are also in a similar situation), and they are usually looking for 3D artists. In know in the past couple of weeks I spoke with the team on the Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland fan project and they are looking for 3D artists and modelers. There are also some other fallout related fan projects that are looking for your skills. That would help you put together a portfolio to submit for art positions. Hope that helps! Good luck!
