Can someone please tell with 100% certainty if Marble and Quartzite respawn over time? I've found so many conflicting things and I just want to know if I should just save up every shard or is there a different way to upgrade weapons/armor?

All sources of Quartzite/Marble Shards are finite and do not respawn. Whetstone/Plating renewable recipes also present in the game and open starting from Black Anthill Chip.
