There is a rather funny bug that can get you stuck in The Crucible.  In the very first challenge called "Agony of the Elements" you are faced with Tyrant of Decay. Using paladin to sneak on him and successful of casting Abjuration will destroy the Tyrant without actually starting the combat with it.

Since there is no combat start, there is no combat end and you are now stranded in The Crucible without a way out.......

Enjoy the rest of your life trapped in that arena ;) ....

PS: This is probably a bug and should be looked into.

Oh wow yeah, that totally works! Haha!

What it seems to be is that the Agony of the Elements is missing the "Boss" keyword that would prevent it from being destroyed by the ability. Whether this is intentional for something in the fight or an oversight I can't say.

The following mod adds the "Boss" keyword the creature:

{
  "GameDataObjects": [
    {
      "$type": "Game.GameData.CharacterStatsGameData, Assembly-CSharp",
      "DebugName": "LAX01_CHA_CRE_Tyrant_of_Decay",
      "ID": "69fc15cd-df6b-4117-8322-36deabd47ca1",
      "Components": [
        {
          "$type": "Game.GameData.CharacterStatsComponent, Assembly-CSharp",
          "KeywordsIDs": [
            "4f2398af-ca47-496a-adfd-fa6f9a3a3d56"
          ]
        }
      ]
    }
  ]
}

Though I have to say it is pretty stratifying to just banish it right as combat starts. 😄

I'm having the same issue with the Crucible and the Tyrant of Decay. However it doesn't seem to matter how I kill the Tyrant, the game never seems to realize that the battle has stopped.

What I have tried:

- Sneakily using my Priests 'Dismissal' on the Tyrant before a battle starts.
- Starting a battle then using my Priest's 'Dismissal'
- Starting a battle and using no skills that dismiss opponents. Killed the Tyrant with offensive weapons and skills over about 4-5 turns.

Are there any known ways of getting around this, since at this point I am thoroughly hard locked from progressing?

Hmm, other than using Dismissal before combat I can't see anything in what you've mentioned that would be causing the bug as Shpenat described it. And there doesn't seem to be any other reports of getting stuck in arena after the fight that I am aware of.

You are using Turn-Based Combat correct?
It's long shot but you could see if changing combat to Real-Time With Pause with the "SetTacticalMode" console command allows you to clear the encounter.

Open the console with the ` key and enter the following:

SetTacticalMode Disabled

You can set it back to Turn-Based after the fight by open the console again and entering the following:

SetTacticalMode RoundBased

This command shouldn't disable achievements.

Thank you for the suggestions Kvellen, and you are correct; I am playing in turn based mode.

I tried what you suggested, specifically I loaded the auto save made when I enter the arena and before starting combat began by disabling turn based mode. I then fought the Tyrant without using any spells that dismiss it or any of the other summons made by the Tyrant. I focus the attack on the Tyrant, taking it down before then slaying the remaining summons.

But still the game doesn't seem to react and the field is still up around the arena, with nothing available to interact with.

Is there a way to report this to Obsidian along with a save file?

Ah well, it was long shot.

Probably your best bet would be: https://support.obsidian.net/#contact

If the widget doesn't show up click "Contact" at the top of the page.
