Just downloaded the new patch and now the game won't even launch. All I get is "steam cloud synchronizing" and then nothing.

Yes... this.

Came to post the same issue.  So i'll just signal boost this.

Rebooted Steam and PC, ran Integrity checks. No dice.

If u are on Windows 7 like myself and game won't start it's because the game is asking for a file from Windows 10 named "api-ms-win-core-winrt-string-l1-1-0.dll" . Hopefully it's just a codding mistake and they didn't dropped support for windows 7 with no notice..

Yeah I found that out, I get the same error message. Fingers crossed, hope it gets straightened out soon.

More users are still on Windows 7 than are using Windows 11.
I'd like to think they will get this fixed, and I would have hoped it would have been fixed by now.

still getting the same error after hotfix patch 0.14.1 on windows 7 64-bit. verified file integrity and reinstalled the game, no change.

Same. Also tried some targeted windows updates and inserting the missing dll. No luck.
