Average_Squid
While I adore the aphids that my group has collectively called Alfreds. I think a more appropriate animal is the spring tail. "Meals on a furcula" while more accurate to what you would find crawling around anyone's backyard with the added fun of shooting them mid spring. Aphids really should be relegated from the ubiquitous food crawling on the substrate to areas with larger plants where they would be found sucking the life out of the larger plants but also found in larger numbers, and possibly different life stages of aphids including flying aphids. Plus springtails are really cute and it adds more diversity. https://bugguide.net/node/view/258368 collection of globular springtails
