I am trying to play the game for the first time via gamepass for pc. After completing the intro and character creation. I can not load the next map after equipping the initial gear in the captains room of the ship. Once attempting to exit I get the error "There was an error loading the next map. Returned to Main Menu to prevent save game corruption." and it sends me back to to the menu. I can not save in the captains room either. I have tried re-verifying the game and the problem still persists. Any help?
