Me and my buddy play on a Xbox multiplayer server and have noticed on multiple occasions where items we load into the game holding don’t appear but still work. My mint mace and club of the mother demon are the ones I see get affected most, but the harvesting tools disappear too. It only happens when loading in from a crash or a non exit save. Loading back in doesn’t  always help either.

Yeah I lost the Rotten Ant Club, Larvae Blade, and 2/3 parts of the Rotten Bee armor! I wish Obsidian could at least replace those items in a future update back to where they spawned at least or when the game is fully-released officially. I know some folks had Burg.L chips respawn, so not sure why those couldn't!
