I use an AFKed computer as a game "server" of sorts for... reasons. anyway, while playing and our afk player is alive, placing and building objects is fine, but once the server toon dies, I can still place objects to be built, but once I add the materials to complete, they disappear. for instance: I place a wall and the blue outline is there, then add the 4 grass pieces and the wall completes and becomes invisible. the game acts as if there is still a barrier there and can't place a new item (can't walk through it, doesn't apply to floors though, glitch fall through invisible floors), but you can no longer interact with the invisible "wall". respawning the dead "server" toon does nothing. restarting the game entirely fixes the missing walls, but the problem continues.

another issue comes from the same dead "server toon" scenario: after a while I can no longer interact with placed items. can't move items, open boxes, place buildable items... but I can grab from resource pallets aka weed stems and grass planks. doors still function as well and can be attacked and die. respawning doesn't fix the issue nor does relogging, restarting the game does.

i'm guessing there is a game timeout if the multiplayer host doesn't respawn in a certain amount of time as none of these things happen in single player.

lastly, is there any plans to create a dedicated server software that could host the lobby? also, is there plans for the host to be able to change custom game settings on the fly during a session?

I am experiencing a very similar issue.  Primary player is not AFK or dead though.  Anytime I finish a wall, floor, or other building piece it becomes invisible.  I can finish a floor piece, walk onto it, fall through and appear to be on the ground below while the primary player sees me standing on the finished floor.  As soon as I move or jump onto a non-bugged finished floor piece, I suddenly appear in the correct place.

I've had this same bug several times since the new update and not before. The server host person I play with has not had the issue. Here's a pic of my friend stood on a plank that I cannot see myself. When I stand on it, I sort of fall through (my client thinks I fell, but my friend says I have not).

The only workaround I've found is to log off/on, but very often I cannot rejoin (my friend doesn't show up in the server list and they have to quit their game and relaunch.)

I found another workaround.  If the invisible construction item takes damage, ie. You hit it, it becomes visible.  

Same deal while playing with My wife some build items will disappear after adding the required materials. Makes team base building almost impossible
