Johnathan Noone Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Aloha, The difficulty on medium is far to high. The recipes are difficult to fulfill when players must beat very difficult enemies with such terrible defensive abilities. Ive learned how to perfect block consistently, Im using a full set of grub armor and a mosquito rapier. The ladybug can 1 shot me, Ive only managed to kill 3, two didnt drop another head to create lady bug armor set. The wolf spider is IMPOSSIBLY hard. Ive used acorn armor and grub, by far grub is better for keeping up the stamina, the wolf spider attcks much too quickly to perfect block consistently, I can perfect block every single attack animation, but when he does the 123, delayed 4th. It always stuns me even if I block, then die from 1 shot on the delayed fourth, full health. The only way is to perfect block all three of those hits and then block the fourth. Even a single scrape is too much dmg from poison, i will die before fight is over. Smoothies are useless. Antclub isnt working, you must perfect block every hit, which is unbelievable. The block on antclub lets hits through, and you die from poison. I will not play on mild, Im better than that. But this needs to be dialed back. Its far too hard, even a good player will be having trouble. I already have parry master lvl 3 and I havent even built a base or got a set of armor beyond grub. Im a console player, On xbox. 1
Johnny Wirick Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) there is a wolf spider that sleeps under a leaf next to the right of the oak tree base entrance. make a bow and arrows and you can shoot at it while standing one one of the roots. it will take a lot of arrows, but it can be done. when you kill five wolf spiders you will get a mutation that makes you immune to poison. lady bugs are strong against the rapier and arrows, but week against hammers/clubs or smashing damage. a weevil shield will block attacks completely, unlike two handed weapons. it's better to focus on getting the ladybug armor for the extra defense before trying to fight the spiders one on one. and even then you should go for the orb weavers before you try taking on the wolf spiders full on. you can also focus on killing smaller bugs to get and build up weapon specific mutations first. like the two handed barbarian mutation. you should look up the location of the four leaf clover to get the lucky mutation for extra crit chance. or work your way on to the picnic table. there is a d20 game dice that gives you the luck mutation when you hit it with a hammer till it rolls a 20. and if the red ant armor has more defense than the grub armor you should work on getting that. ant's are weak to swords so you should be able to take them out easily enough with the rapier and blade master mutation, and it's life steal will help to kill the solder ants. and you really should start building a base. i recommend on one of the lily pads in the pond, as no bugs can get to it to harass you or steal food out of your storage containers. i hope this helps. and i don't play on xbox, but if there is the debug options in the game menu too, you should do the "fix bug locations" option each time you start or load a save game. it makes the bugs a bit more predictable like ensuring the wolf spiders aren't roaming around during the day.
