I like my items set up in a certain way on my hotkey bindings. I enjoy that I can customize their placement before I head out of base. I would love it if, when I go retrieve my items from my backpack, my items didn't shuffle around in my hotkeys. If I died I'm probably close to a combat situation and would like to swap to a weapon and not try to hit a bug with a quartzite that's where my weapon used to be.

You can specify type in the hotkey list as well.  It's persistent even on Xbox. Like if your a hacker you can toss your ax and it will go back to the same slot even if you had another weapon to replace it if you select to specify weapon in the slot and not just hold weapon or heal for slot

Normally yes, but if I die or if I log out and back in again all my hotkey pins are lost. I'm told this does not happen with the host.

Ahhh. I haven't played multiplayer didn't know this was an issue. That does really need fixing.
