if I have a part of 6, can I recruit another companion? Do I have to dismiss one at the keep first? Or will they join the party but hang in the keep till I swap them in? How does this work? I have 6 but think there’s another in the area I just entered, but don’t want to lose them if I can use them later?

You can recruit new companions even when you go with a full party. It will open the party management window, so you can integrate them in the party right away, or let them wait in Caed Nua until you want to change your party.

(I remember always going to new areas with a party of 5 when I first played the game because I was unsure of just that - not necessary 😅)

Ty… when I got the 7th companion it was obvious, kind of, what to do. I just didn’t want to lose the chance!
