TsTyCZ Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 This is not the first time people (including me) are asking where are the saves for W10 version of the game located. Steam saves are located in "Saved Games -> Grounded" folder. Windows 10 actually lets you export saves to "Saved Games -> Grounded Windows 10 Exported". But doesn't really seem to have a save location (or at least not an easily accessible one). Many players are gonna be trying / tried the game on the free weekend and decided to progress further via the gamepass. So moving the saves shouldn't be THAT hard (and it should be possible, I have tried creating a ticket and was told the following: So.. can we please get an insight of "how"? Not only for me but for future reference, people will naturally be moving between versions and saves being this hard to find is kind-of a bummer. If I get a reply from the support, I will update you guys Thank you
TsTyCZ Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 So.. Today I got "fix" It does not work for any of my 4 friends nor some more players I asked to try it but who knows, maybe you will be the lucky one..
TownsAid Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 My suspicion is that the Xbox Game Pass version of the game saves games differently from both the steam version and the version that can be purchased from the Xbox games storefront. (I have not confirmed this, just assuming). It may indeed be that if you buy the game outright, it creates the Grounded Windows 10 folder in the savegames folder. the current Xbox Games Pass version creates a bunch of weirdly named folders inside the WindowsApps folder and also under User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Maine_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wsg, the latter being the seemingly actual save file, it just does not use the same naming convention as the steam version so putting save folders in there doesnt do anything Obsidian, can we get an import function on the Xbox Games Pass version of the game?
cstanick Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Hey everyone! The saves for the Xbox Game Pass for PC version and the Microsoft Store are saved on the cloud, and that is why you can't find your saves locally. The team is aware of the issue that is preventing players from importing their saves from Steam to Xbox Game Pass for PC/Microsoft store and are hoping to have a fix available for players soon. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that this issue has caused. For future reference, these forums are for other players to help each other with issues, and you might not always hear from someone. If you have a bug to report, please submit it to https://support.obsidian.net/contact and include the following information: 1. Platform (Xbox Console, PC Game Pass, PC Steam). 2. Multiplayer or Single Player Game (if multiplayer, can you let us know how many players in total in the game and their platforms if you know this) 3. Description of issue. 4. Last thing you did in the game before the issue occurred, if applicable. Cheers!
