Nintendo Switch post patch New Game Ranger Bug

I recently downloaded the new patch for nintendo switch. I started a new file because thats all I do and decided to go Ranger, upon starting the game my animal companion is no where to be found, ive restarted several times and always encounter the same thing. Is there any fix for this? Am I maybe missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Configure browser push notifications
    Chrome (Android)
    1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
    2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
    3. Adjust your preference.
    Chrome (Desktop)
    1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
    2. Select Site settings.
    3. Find Notifications and adjust your preference.
