Multiplayer not working?

Me and my friend wanted to play grounded co-op but we could not invite or join eachother. 

We both play on xbox and want to play together.

Currently it is not in the game, to invite. 
if one of you hosts and the other goes to join online multiplayer, they should be able to see and join their friend who is hosting
