Stupid question incoming.

Totally new to modding, but I've noticed that no one seems to have made any mods that add additional playable races to the game. I find it hard to believe that no one has wanted to play as a vithrack or xaurip, so I'm assuming there's a good reason. I'm mostly looking for someone to tell me it's a bad idea before I go down this rabbit hole.
