Game can't exit mod menu

Once I install a mod I cannot Esc out of the menu. this forces me to AltF4 to close the game, very frustrating.  please fix.

I've also had the same issue. I don't know if this is just circumstance, but it always happens when I hit tab instead of escape. Like I said, I don't know if that's the cause but, it always happens when I do this
