The quest is now failed but I have no clue what triggered it, since I haven't been in a fight since I got it by talking to Parvati in the unreliable.

    I have a post on this myself. I'm having the same problem. 

    Did you do a quest that loaded in cattle to your cargo hold and ada says something like "Who keeps ordering the fertilizer?"

    If so that's what caused it for me. It's one of the either iconoclast or sublight quests.
