After I return to the Brass Citadel with Maia to complete her mission, after delivering the missives, she leaves my group; then later I get a message saying: 'Maia has returned to rejoin your crew' but she doesn't re-appear in my group. I have checked the whole of the Brass Citadel, but I can't find her. From reading other posts, I understand she is supposed to rejoin automatically? I have tried leaving the Brass Citadel after she leaves the party and then returning, later, to different parts of the Citadel, but she still doesn't return after I get the message that she has rejoined..

Isn't she on your character rooster (where you change party members - like in taverns)?

In my case I found her hanging out in my ship, but yeah you can recruit her with the changing party member option (either in tavern or in your ship) when she returns.
