3 months after release and I still can't complete the Huana questline or the Painted Masks.

Question

Hey all, first time poster here.

I know it has been mentioned both on here and on reddit before (though from a quick scan of the forums here none too recently), but I feel it's still worth mentioning again. During my playthrough I decided of my own freewill to deal with the slavers at Crookspur - they were slavers, they needed killin'. After the deed was done, Rauatai approached me to say they were taking the island. This was before accepting Onekaza's quest to recruit the Wahaki, which never appeared in my questlog when I did accept it, or even visiting the Wahaki for Aloth's quest.

Anyway, upon finally visiting Ori o' Koiki and speaking to the chieftain for the above quests, she immediately got pissed about Rauatai taking the island after I told her I dealt with Crookspur, and refuses to speak to me further. I can't speak to her about the Painted Masks or helping the Huana.

This was 2 months ago. I was hoping after several patches it would be fixed, but no dice. I know you guys are busy, but this is pretty game-breaking stuff for me and I'm assuming several other players as well - I can't complete the game with my preferred faction, and I can't complete the quest involving a companion who has been in my party the entire game.

Hopefully something can be done about this? I know you can murder the chieftain at least for the Painted Masks, but I don't feel that should be my only option.

I've attached a save file below for reference. Thoughts?

Hi wafflecrisps,

Both of the issues you've mentioned should be fixed in our most recent live patch v2.0.0.0030.

The Painted Masks - You should now be able to read Ruasare's soul without having to kill her even after Rautai takes control of Crookspur

Fruitful Alliance - The quest should now be completable by speaking to Queen Onekaza directly

I'm in the exact same boat, and I have it patched to the most recent one. The Wahaki tribe still shuts me out after they find out about Rautai, and I can only read the Wahaki chief's soul from killing her (and thereby everyone in the tribe). Returning to the Queen still results in her being disappointed, but I don't know if that means I can't try to side with them now (I don't want to get too far along if only to find out it will go nowhere). I've attached the quick save file that puts me in the Wahaki palace entrance for the first time.

Fruitful Alliance is still bugged in  the lastest patch, v2.1.0.0034.

1. Read her soul alive will make Fruitful Alliance failed immediately.

2. After the first coversiton with Ruasare, the only option in diaglog is "Read her soul", meaning you cannot report your successful action in Crookspur.

Therefore, Fruitful Alliance is stuck at the "Report to Ruasare..." step.

This problem can be avoided by choosing "Read her soul" in the very first conversation, which is initiated automatically when you enter the room.

Don't mention anything about ally or slavery before that. You should read her soul, complete the Painted Masks quest first, then start another conversation and mention the ally or slavery matter.

Looks like this is no longer possible; during the first conversation there is no option to "Read her soul"; after this first conversation, "Read her soul" is the only option left, whatever else is done (even after clearing Crookspur).
