August 2, 20187 yr So I beat PoE2 last weekend with watcher being an Arcane Knight (Paladin & Wizard), and even on Veteran it was neat how tanky I was. So what are some fun, kinda 'out there' builds. Druid shapeshifter + X or Wael priest + X seem kind of neat to me, but I'm afraid the druid's shapeshifting won't last long enough, and that the priest will be too much like the Arcane Knight.
August 2, 20187 yr By far the most challenging for me has been the Ravager. The funniest was the Drunken master (making your enemies stop and puke is hilarious). Now I'm trying to make big booms/mass slaughter Just started testing: 1. Fighter/Monk (both vanilla). Goal of: Heaven's Cacophony+aoe weapon+mobstance+heartbeat drumming+swift flurry+flagellent's path= lightning storm crazyness. 2. Ranger(stalker). Goal of: double spear Mohora Tanga + stalker's patience and stacking stealth and survival. (killer ST dps; once you get PL8 though...whirling blades). Still tweaking: 1. Fire Godlike, Priest of Magran/Paladin Bleakwalker. Fire and more fire. Explosion!
August 2, 20187 yr Priest of Wael + monk is a staple for my runs. Tanky af and support for days. Berserker and devoted would be good with it too. Even on PotD I always dual wield, don’t need to tank what’s dead...Toutilo’s Palm is a good fit though, just make sure to take dual wield and weapon and shield passives. IMO shapeshifter fits best with berserker. Frenzy gives your animal form +5 might, +5 con, +2 armor pen and +2 armor. It really helps make up for losing weapon and armor stats. Also, all of the barbarian passives like carnage, thick skin, bloody slaughter, bloodlust, one stands alone, etc. still work in animal form, so makes sure to get them. I’ve done PotD with his one too, not really a main tank though. Edit: for shift duration very little in the game outlasts cat form, if it does go wolf next. Cat is best dps but wolf isn’t too far behind. At max int you’ll get ~45 seconds duration for each form. FWIW I’d run 10 str/10 or 8 con/max dex/max per/max int/3 res on both.
