So apparently Flesh Communion destroys the target completely also devouring armor and sword.
However if you loot the battlefield immediately after the battle (using a wide loot pickup setting) the destroyed body is still amongst the loot given.
If you however run away a bit, return, then loot the bodies it's no longer amongst the loot pile.
Not sure which of the 2 is the issue; the destruction or the non-destruction but it obviously shouldn't work like this.
