I was at the stage of "Find Yngfirth in Dunnage" and nowhere near Dunnage actually (instead I was on an island visiting a forgotten tomb).

 

After killing the Death Guard Fanatic there, the quest suddenly updated as if I had found Yngfrith.

However, even after it updates the quest, talking to Modwyr does not progress the quest
