Is there any Improved Performance (micro stutter) on Windows 10?

Torm51

Question

I have not switched to Windows 10 yet.  I still run Windows 7.  The only technical issues I am having (In POE 1 also) is micro stutter.  Nothing I have ever tried since the release of POE 1 has worked.  Anyone Windows 10 users or tech savvy people have any opinions?

Posting your PC specs may help to narrow down the problem.

But if you want to try Windows 10 you could do the following.

I am assuming that you have.

A) Windows installed on its own drive.

B) Your programs stored on another drive.

C) An external drive to backup (image) to.

Download a backup imaging program.

I use Macrium Reflect (a free version is available).

Once installed go to menu "Other Tasks" and select "Add Recovery Boot Menu Option".

Create an image of the Windows 7 drive to the External drive.

Install Windows 10.

Test the game.

If you see no improvement then restore the Windows 7 image.

A) Ensure the external drive is attached.

B) Reboot your computer.

C) Select the Macrium Reflect Recovery option from the boot menu.

D) Select the image to restore once Macrium has booted.

After restore click exit and your computer will reboot.

Your computer will be running Windows 7.

Windows 10 is an evolving platform.

Current version is 1803 which I tested and performance was variable so I would not recommend.

I imaged my PC back to 1709 the previous version which runs with no issues.

I blocked Windows 10 from auto updating to 1803.

I am using Windows 10 because it came pre-installed on PC.

Previous PC had Windows 7.

It comes down to personal choice.

There is no need to update to Windows 10 unless you want DX12.

Few games support it and performance is variable.

What do the monitor drivers do?  I did not even know those existed lol I am up to date on the GPU drivers.
