Got back to Tikawara after a trip to Poko Kohara, and did not get the warmest of welcomes. Said I'm not allowed to sleep there any more, and Himuihi told me off when I asked her for a mat to sleep on. However, she allows me to recruit adventurers. When I choose that conversation option, it's possible to click on the Room button, click on a sleeping option, and go to sleep, including the paid rooms (non-free).

 

I suppose the Room button ought to be disabled when this scenario occurs.
