Mail Armor Aliasig is making me want to skip playing.

JadeCriminal

Question

I'd like to know if anyone had issues with just chainmail looking ridiculously out of place due to what I assume is aliasing?

In light of being on vacation I figured I'd finally play Pillars of Eternity + DLC and then get the sequel.

I reinstalled the game after a very long time and made a character... And It works. Everything is smooth as butter on my standard issue 2018 hardware... Except the chain mail is literally making me want to skip playing the game.

As the character moves, especially if I look closely, it looks like it's covered in silvery equivalent of a snow crash. (For those born after cathode tubes went the way of the dodo it's that "snow" thing you get on old TVs when there's no signal.)

As the character moves the whole mail armor shimmers like someone covered them in silver balls from a distance or if I come close to a monitor, one of those black and while psychedelic illusions.

I tried googling for aliasing issues and armour issues but nothing comes up and neither did it come up when I did a search on this forum.

I tried fiddling with the resolution (both lowest and highest supported on my device), forcing antialiasing on and off (both in console with MSAA 0 1 and 2  and with nVidia overrides)

Tried Running in 4x DSR from 1080p native resolution to 2840 x 2160

I tried forcing open gl and direct x with -force-d3d10 and -force-opengl respectively

No luck.

I don't recall having this issue with my older computer so now I'm stumped.

Someone has to have come across this before?

I got a GTX 1080 if it's a graphics card issue?

DxDiag.txt

The screenshot doesn't really do it justice. It just looks pixely which I could care less about. But as the character moves it shimmers like a black and white optical illusion and stands out from pretty much everything else totally breaking immersion.

I guess I could play the game without using mail/chainmail armor of any kind but I don't want to.

If no one saw what I'm describing... I'd settle for replacing chain-mail models with leather armor or something. (As long as I don't have to fiddle for hours with meshes or something)
