If you are an indespensable employee who the Boss cannot replace and who is needed for the venture to be successful you CAN demand those sorts of things from your Boss. That is the point.

ok, one thing, bioware would have done a whole lot better with kotor2 because the have the balls to tell lucasarts that they need more then 12 months to finish a game such as kotor2... obsidian on the other hand... does not... they arnt as big as bioware is....
Very true. Hopefully Obsidian will have that ability someday. But they need to get some really good releases under their belt first. Here is hoping on NWN2.

I told you im not like this all the time...... you wouldint understand cause you dont have that kinda sensitivity to know what it feels like to have that kinda love from people on a message board speedguide was the best thing that ever happend to me, i always get alot of support from them... advice anything to help me out when i need it, you go and spend as much as time as i do on there and you will feel the same way, some people have over 20 thousund posts on that board, i only have around 350 posts.... im not the jerk that you make me out to be, i already explained to you that its been a crappy few days...

LMAO!!! i dont have an nvidia card, i have an ATI X800PRO, you would know that if you actauly read my system specs.
I have an ATI x800 Pro. I run the game with no problems. Why don't you get your dad to look at it for you? Maybe he can solve the problem.
I would honestly try to help you, as many others have, but you just snub them back like a jerk. So instead, I'll take a crack at poking fun of your age.
my "dad" is dead, he died a few months ago, and no one has to look at it "for me" i build computers... i know what im doing... even if my dad was alive i would never talk to him because of the things he did when i was younger.. i will never forgive him for that, even if he is dead.

I've looked more into my problem with Kotor2 and the down to a near crawl on framerate - even though I updated to latest ATI drivers the problem was still present - then it struck me - reverting back to older drivers - like the 8.07 betas - and tried them - and guess what ?
yup you guessed right - or did you ? dont want to get nto all that - but the old bugger fixed the problem - as far as I can tell - I'm currently roaming the streets of Telos and no slowdown whatsoever thus far - I'll wait and see on other part of the game. But if this is the case, that newest ATI driver aint good with Kotor2, it might be a good idea to brung the issue up with ATI.
Strange thing is tho' - the guy who startet this thread has an nvidia card - to you I can suggest you take the latest OFFICIAL driver MS certified andtry it - before rambling on that it's the games fault.
To the person I said that he was lil off about not the games fault - I admit I was wrong - untill I bump into a similar issue with Kotor2
I can only say - why didnt I think of THAT sooner ?? was right under my nose.

it NEEDS bioware and not obsidian, obsidian completely bombed the kotor franchise IMO, even there website is screwed up, and yes i know this company hasint been around for long, but they completely screwed this thing up... and i know LA pushed the deadline up, but they coulda said go **ck your self and then do it on there own time LOL.... the game isint great, but its not terrible... it could be way better...
i practicaly worship bioware for there awesome job with kotor1..... i think kotor1 woulda been as bad as kotor2 if obsidian made it... with kotor1 i actualy wish i could go back in time and experiance it for the first time.... kotor2 however..... makes me wanna puke to think about me having to go through peragus everytime i make another character....
Anyways now that my ranting is over with... whats your oppionion?

Well i upgraded my nvidia 64mb ti4200 a couple weeks ago to a radeon 9600XT. And now have proof there is something seriously wrong with this game. the game kept crashing with my ATI card and there were major bugs
Good job i kept my old geforce i got stuck on Telos where i had reactivated a old space ship the video escaping the military base wouldnt play and i kept crashing out to a windows error. After retrying 4-5 times and still not gettin past the video i decided to wack my old geforce into my machine now the game runs fine no crashing and even runs smoother with a g card that is half as powerful as the one i bought 2 weeks ago.
This clearly shows the game has no support for ATI cards so why put this on the back of the box, when your clearly supporting NVIDIA chipsets
Because of this however i will be sending my ATI card back to get a geforce 6 card. As the support for ATI cards is terrible its not just Obsidians fault its ATI's as they dont produce drivers to fix problems. With kotor when i played it through on my ATI card i had to use old drivers rather than the new ones because it became laggy but was smooth with the old ones
This leads me to think what are ATI upto fixing problems then unfixing them so i will be reverting back to geforce as i had no problems with them before, luckily i only bought the card 2 weeks ago so i can.
But i dont feel that it is right for Obsidian to say the game supports a chipset when it clearly doesnt. I feel for other ATI users in a way they've discriminated against people with ATI cards and this isn't fair the matter should be address and fixed befored the game is released.
I admit im taking drastic action sending my ATI card back but i had no problems running on Geforce cards for the last 10 years, and to have this much trouble trying another chip that did have good reviews has totally thrown me off ATI chips, so il be happy to go back to NVIDIA.
What do other people think about this?
one more thing, nvidia has these things called hang drivers, wich means that if u install a ATI card it will decreese preformance by a TON, i had like 10 fps on games when i switched to ATI untill i reformated my computer. so make sure u do that or ur not going to get good preformance.

my ATI X800PRo 256mb works great with it, no crashers or lock ups so far.

You cant use the speeder, it was cut. And the gold pazaak cards work as + or - depending on your situation

Ive heard reports of 30, and Ive heard others of 50. So somewhere in that range but there is not top level.

If you cant complete it, because the game for you is that hideous, i suggest you download 'Bink and Smacker' and Necrotech file decypher and watch all the cut scenes
even the cut sceens are bad. on PC anyways

my computers specs are..... AMD athlon xp 3000+ OC'ed to 3200, 1gig corsair xms3200 series RAM, ATI X800Pro 256mb/256bit GFX card, asus a7n8x mobo, lets seee.... 160gig 7200RPM HD... i think thats everything

Granted there are bugs and problems, but Framerate is ALWAYS Spec related...
its not ALWAYS SPEC RELATED.... i have had plenty of games lag but when i patch it it usualy does fine after that, and yes i have hit puberty for your information i know im whinging and pissing and moaning, but its just sooo disappointing.....

Drivers? Plenty of system builder I know seem to forget this little feature, what with all the bragging about components that goes on, people seem to forget those little details.
BTW, I am running what would now be considered a mid-range or lower machine: Athlon 2800, 1gig PC3200, geForce 5600 (256mb). Not a screamer, but I am comfortably running TSL with AA and Antiscopic x4 and soft shadows enabled at 1280x1024 / 32. I only get a noticeable drop when mist is involved. (poison gas traps)
Not denying your problems as many seem to be having them, just pointing out maybe something overlooked.
I can't help you with the story because I am enjoying so far.
already updated the drivers.... i check for new drivers every month hehe

As lag is due to loss of virtual memory. How much RAM is your 'top notch' PC running?
its not my computer its the damn game, if i can run any other game with max settings then i can run this, i have 1gig corsair XMS3200 series... and im 13 btw... so im not employed.

Why oh WHY didint bioware make this game, i mean honestly, they woulda actualy tried to make it good, dont get me wrong i like it pretty good but in some parts of the game its just unplayable(PC version btw), like dantooine.... it laags realy realy bad... and yes my computer can run any new game that comes out, i build computers and mine is top notch. even with the gfx settings ALL THE WAY DOWN it still laaags realy bad, come out with a patch people!!!..... I still havint finished the game cause of your stupid bugs... you coulda just told lucas arts to **ck off, that u need more time. Now im stuck with a good game with horrible problems with it, problems with the story line, bugs, everything. i have obsidian for royaly screwing up the game, kotor2 barely even has anything to do with the first kotor.... even after beating the first kotor about 15 times i want to play it more and more... but with kotor2 its just a headache.... I love kotor1, but kotor2 has some serious problems that need to be worked out.... The story line for one SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS... thats what im so pissed about.... in kotor1 i felt so.... i cant explaine it but i was in heaven when i played that game... it was so fun and exciting.... but kotor2, nuh uh..... a royal headache..... its not that fun and its not that exciting.... peragus has got to be the worst begining you people could evert come up with.... kotor1 was great.... but this just sucks horribly, but in a way i still like it. but i guess i have to like it since i spent 50 bucks on it *grrrrr* anyways now that i got that off my chest, im going to go play kotor1 and actualy have some fun... OBSIDIAN SUCKS, LET BIOWARE DO THE KOTOR GAMES YOU STUPID **CKERS.
