  1. Ever since I reverted back to the 4.1 drivers, I never crash anymore. Granted, I don't know what effect it will have on my other games, so I may have to install the 5.2 drivers and place the 4.11 OpenGL dll into the KOTOR2 directory in order for everything to work. We shall see...
  2. Agreed. Different video card drivers don't have ANY effect on this problem... just the crashing prob. Luckily, I only have to reset my settings about once an hour or so, so it's not the end of the world. I guess I should be happy that the game runs since so many people can't seem to get it to work!
  3. Problem is, it's not just the brightness that get's reset, it's the AA settings as well. I'll play around with the ATI control panel and see if I can tweak something.
  4. I guess it only makes sense to add this to the list of complaints aimed at ATI. However, since they haven't fixed the crashing problems AND lagging issues in wide open spaces, why would ATI and/or Obsidian fix this issue?
  5. I get it now. This procedure allows me to regularly update my ATI drivers while using an older OpenGL version JUST for KOTOR2... right? Trouble is, if I have the gamma reset problem with the 4.11 drivers installed, this procedure won't fix that problem... just the random crashing problem. Right?
  6. Are you using an ATI card as well? I can't seem to find much information on this problem, so it appears to be a problem with just certain hardware. I don't recall having this problem when I first bought KOTOR1, but I don't remember if I was running my Raedon 9800 Pro or my old GF3 card at the time.
  7. I'm sure this is already covered in another thread, but what is the benefit of this procedure? Force KOTOR2 to use OpenGL rather than D3D to render images via ATI cards? Will this fix the gamma settings reset problem that I'm apparently having? I'll give a try this evening and see if it works out.
  8. When you manually adjust the position settings DURING the cut-scene, are you saving the changes? I've got an older Hitachi CRT that requires me to save my custom changes or they revert back to the old ones. Just a thought. I also believe that there is an option in the configuration menu that defaults to fullscreen. You may need to check that. Good luck.
  9. Wow! I thought someone would have seen this issue before. Maybe it's just my whacked PC!
  10. I was researching this problem on another msgboard and the problem seems to be that when a cut-scene runs, the ini gamma setting is somehow reset to 0. I haven't been able to test this. However, it doesn't account for the lack of AA too.
  11. I have a 9800 Pro and am having an issue with KOTOR 1 and 2. After cutscenes and some in-game movies, my brightness and AA settings are ignored and the game gets VERY dark and there's no AA. I can fix this by going into the Graphics settings and making ANY change to the AA and the brightness settings and everything is back to normal. I also have to do this every time I start the game. The funny thing is, the settings were as I left them... just ignored. I'm running the 4.11 drivers, which have fixed all the crashes, but this problem remains. Any advice? Anyone else getting this?
