This is the problem with these kind of posts... people assume that others are "whining" and can't possibly have valid reasons for being in a particular situation so they end up trolling; some unintentionally, but trolling nonetheless.
My style of gameplay is to have a few savegames going and after three or four I start recycling my saves, overwriting old ones because due to my playstyle there's no point for me returning to anything more than four save games prior to where I'm at; this includes the autosave file. Therefore when I was in the pit I saved frequently and ended up with all four save files taking place in the pit, including the pre-pit auto-save. I knew it was the no-return point and I didn't care because I finished everything there was to do and I was ready for the end game; no point returning to something I've already played out, so pre-pit save is worthless. After finishing the game it kicked me straight out to menu and didn't create a finished save-game or allow me to do so, but I didn't mind since there would be nothing for me to do afterwards; after all, the game is over. Then they came out with these expansions, so I re-install Pillars, buy both expansions, and find that there's no way to continue from where I'm at, which is pretty ridiculous given that I had no problem continuing from my end-games in other RPG's such as the Baldur's gate series, the Neverwinter series, etc.... Now I come to the forums and find that it isn't possible without enabling a cheat, and I also find people heaping ridicule on those who lost their save files because "you're a god damn idiot and have nobody else to blame for not foreseeing this would happen". My stance is : if you have nothing constructive to say, better to not say anything at all.
