  1. I've made the following changes to make the game more difficult: No equipment except robe(Some Dark Jedi robe, the coolest one basically) Using only one light saber with no upgrades. I have Force englightment, master valour, master speed and first rank of the armor thing, but I'm not using force enlightment anymore, just master speed. I'm seeing some difficulty within the game now, if I'm not careful I can become overtaken fairly easily, and some battles are difficult enough for me to use strategy in. Most battles are fairly easy though. The game isn't properly tuned, where the battles are similar in difficult, which is unfortunate but forgivable. I'm at a good point, but I'm thinking about reducing my light saber to 1d1 damage and see what that does. I could also give myself the first rank of force speed. I'm finding the force storm to be rather inneffective at my present status because it's resisted and saved a lot, but I think that'll change soon for whatever reason.
  2. Says who? Heh... the guy I picked for K2 looked like a 5 year older version of the guy I picked in K1 with longer hair(He was the white dude with the 'flat top'. I spent the entire game thinking I was Revan.
  3. Oh yeah, all the missions where my main character wasn't in the party were difficult. Like the one where you have to rescue your dude on the ship. It was tough fighting(But I found a way to trivialize that as well, with the master energy resistence buff, all the blasters in that level couldn't do real damage). As soon as I got my main guy, man, it was time to open a can of whoopass. The solo one with that red headed bounty hunter was funny, after I beat the wookie guy I just ran around the level, ignoring the dozens of mobs, used improved alacrity and opened the door for my main guy, so he could lay a whoopin on everything. IT reminds me of this video I saw with these female lions catching an ox thing, then hyena's come and eventually beat off the lionesses. Then out of no where comes the daddy lion and just beats the **** out of about 5 hyena's. That's how I feel with my main guy.
  4. This was probably one of the more difficult fights in the game, it could probably be done much easier if I had had the AE fear/stasis thing at that point, but oh well. It's not impossible with a combat build though. I imagine having a force storm or lightning would trivialize this. To the people telling me to gimp my character: What I did in choosing my build was identify what exactly I wanted to do in a battle, what would be the most fun. Light saber fighting was chosen, and I built my class around that goal. I don't want to gimp my character to fix the game... but there are other ways... Well, since I completed the game light side and messed up my chance to get HK-47, I played the second game with a darkside character. Here's what I did differently: 1. Give myself two light sabers at the beginning of the game. 2. Use KotoR_Tool to make the light sabers do 1d5 dmg(The game says 1-1 damage) 3. Give myself all the parts to fix HK-47 on the place after Peragus, the restoration one. 4. Use cheats to increase my repair/computer/security/persuade to 40(But I don't repair HK-47 with it, just bypass crap. 5. Give myself Force Enlightenment(So I can 'buff up' with the touch of a button). 6. Only use HK-47, no other party members, unless required. Right now things are much more difficult, I'm limiting the guns that HK-47 can use(But he sucks right now anyway, I think I finished Dantooine and just started the one with the mandalorians). I can change the difficulty dynamically by choosing whether or not to equip certain items. I believe there to be a major flaw with how powerful force storm and lightning are. The ability to run in, press '2' twice or thrice, keep running and have your mana back before the next group of mobs is broken. If I designed a build entirely around that ability, I would have an incredibly powerful character. The game doesn't even try to block those types of things with the tools that the player has to block them(AGainst what?) If anyone wants to make the change to lightsabers like I did, email me at jamesmw(at)gmail.com for the file to put in your override directory in your base install directory. It makes the game a bit more challenging. This game needs 1. less powerful melee from the player, 2. less str items, 3. an AI that uses their force abilities(If Jedi), 4. Jedi need to start appearing by the first or second level. 5. half the dmg on force storm/lightning with an additional limit to targets(3 or 4). Damage should be tiered, not a simple multiplier. On the difficult setting, the player should be required to do preperation before the battle, and play intelligently to pass the battle, right now I could jab the keyboard with my **** and beat the game.
  5. Would've liked some scripting built into this... customizability would be nice. Could tell that witch to first cast meditate, then valor, then armor, etc etc, and keep them up on my character during battle.
  6. Yeah, you're right about what you said. Looking back after beating it, they should have given you a light saber much earlier and had you fighting jedi quickly after that. It took me around 14 hours of play time before I got my light saber, I would have preferred to have had it earlier and started to get into some real combat sooner.
  7. Beat this game earlier today, 24 hours played or something?. I did no third party modification or cheating, and ended as a level 27 guardian/weapon master (light side) with 42 some strength. The game was fairly challenging (I played in difficult mode the entire time through) at the beginning, but after I made my light saber, my character turned into a veritable god. At this point, I was capable of killing 4 out of 5 'normal' mobs in one flurry(or round), most bosses/named took two rounds, and I could probably count on my fingers the enemies that took three rounds to kill. SPOILER: As an example, the Sith Lords in the final level took two rounds every time, the 'sleeps with vibroblades' took 2 on each 'rejuvination', and the boss boss took 3 rounds. Quite literally for the last level, I could use force speed(no other buffs/shields/stims), run into the middle of the enemies, and let my character agro on them with the normal attack, and kill them all and be barely scratched. The only time I had an enemy use a force ability on me was the boss boss, who did some piss weak launch thing. END SPOILER One thing I've noticed on the forums is that my class is apparently the weakest, mostly because of the force lightning thing that I do very poorly. I can imagine that if I had played another class and went dark side I could easily run into a room, press the number 2 twice, and clear it quickly. Perhaps the beta testers were very poor players, but this game is terribly easy. I'm playing around with Kotor_Tool now, so maybe I can make it tough enough to go again and be dark side. Really what this game needs is another difficulty setting that has twice as many mobs with twice as much health that do twice as much damage. That'd be the lazy way. The proper way would be to make adjustments based upon how well the player is doing, if he's beating the **** out of the mobs like I do, make them tougher etc, some games have had this and it's nice. My question is this: Are other players experiencing such an easy game? Also, is there any way to up the difficulty, any third party programs that do this? Patches? Anything?
