sadly, the only "safe" way to install SP2 is immediatelly after a fresh install of XP, otherwise programs will or may become unusable. Even if a program is installed following the install of SP2, and SP2 wasn't installed immediatelly after XP, the problem still occurs. (in other words, you had the computer runing for weeks/months/years before installing SP2) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not true. WinXP has been happily installed on my computer for over a year now and after I installed SP2, *everything* is working as it should.

Maybe it's because the XBOX has an nVidia chip for its graphics. So the code runs somewhat better on systems equip with nVidia cards. Games like Doom3 and Half-life 2 ran flawlessly on my computer (ATI card). On Dantoine, the game bugs down to 1 frame every 2 seconds...what do I do? Well, change a settings in the graphic settings and voila. Game runs normal until the next time. Those technical issues are *very* frustrating, but the game is soooo good so far.

I've had similar problems, but not game related. In fact, strange things was happening when I tried to boot into WinXP. It was rebooting automaticaly. After intensive research and hardware testing, it was my RAM. If I were you, I would find a utility that tests your memory. I'm not saying this is it, but at least you would roll out that part. good luck.
