Which character you playing? The remote?
In that case you dont need to open the door, all 4 republic ships are in the 2 areas you can explore.
If your playing the exile then door only closes for the encounter with the boss beast then reopens. If it remains closed then yes its a bug (not one I ever ran into tho).
